Crime film target audiences.

For a crime film the target audience is mostly based for adults as adult themes are inevitable. Of which these adults are mostly male. Crime films may be seen to be too violent for a younger audience and also the detective techniques and judicial system may not contain the same level of interest for everyone. Generally crime film audiences are male already this is reflected in the way that the films are written. Out of most crime films there is a protagonist. Love interests are hardly ever developed if in the film at all. The lack of this and female roles alienates the female audience from these types of films. There are always exceptions to these rules but for the majority on the BBFC website targeted 15 and 18, male audiences are more targeted.
